Why do ceremonial work?
There are many parts of ourselves that we cannot think our way into, talk our way out of, or access through the mind alone.
We can spend years understanding our trauma, our attachment patterns, and the ways we've learned to protect ourselves, yet still find ourselves returning to the same places in our lives.
The same relationships. The same fears. The same ways of abandoning ourselves, shutting down, or reaching for something outside of us to feel whole.
Ceremony offers us a different way of entering into relationship with these parts of ourselves.
We go beyond the mind, beyond the knowledge, beyond books - and into the field of now, where the nervous system and the psyche reveal their deepest truths.
When we go into these darkest corners of our mind, body and spirit, the roots are deeply known, and the fruits of your life become fuller, sweeter, and more alive.
We are not merely meeting these medicines to take from them. We are meeting these medicines to learn from them, as the teachers they are.
This is not a medication we take to feel better, this is a journey we take to meet ourselves in realms we have been taught to avoid and distract ourselves from in our culture.
It’s in the realms of the mystery, the plants, of spirit, where we truly meet ourselves.
My approach to ceremony
An arc of healing
Every ceremonial container deserves our full attention and time, including thorough preparation, the ceremony itself, and integration.
Preparation
We begin by getting to know you. Your history, your intentions, the patterns you are working with, and the resources you have available to support you.
For psychedelic offerings, we also explore relevant health considerations, potential risks, and which medicine is appropriate for you. This can be anywhere from 2 sessions to months of deep preparation work.
Ceremony
The ceremonial space is an opportunity to step outside of our ordinary ways of relating to ourselves and explore what arises when we commune with the mystery and the plant/mycelial teachers.
We work with the experience as it unfolds, rather than trying to force it toward a particular outcome. Live and recorded music, energy healing, internal family systems & parts work, chants & songs are some of the tools we utilize in the space, depending on the needs you present.
Integration
Ceremony is only 20 - 50% of the experience. Integration is where the rubber meets the road, where we turn the insight into wisdom, action, transformation or change.
Integration is often the most fruitful part of our time together, and because of that many clients continue working with me for years post-ceremony. Integration can last as little as 3 sessions, and as much as multiple years working together. Through deep listening, we try to honor the best way to move through this arc together.
